Historic Preservation Commission (HPC)



The Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) has the mission of recognizing and protecting the city’s historic resources for the benefit of present and future residents.

The HPC is comprised of 5 volunteer members and 2 alternates appointed by the City of Vero Beach City Council.  The HPC is responsible for recommending properties to the City of Vero Beach City Council for designation as historic landmarks, reviewing proposed alterations to locally designated historic properties and review National Register Nominations.


The HPC will also provide assistance to, and education of, owners of properties for potential historic designation.
